Joy Sooths Mocha Maya's September 30, 2006

Joy Sumberg's show at Mocha Maya's on Saturday was great fun--especially with a room filled with lots of friends. The owners of Mocha Maya's Chris and Bruce are working hard to keep local music in the spotlight. Mocha Maya's is a great place to listen to music--if you are looking for a fun intimate place to listen to music consider heading out that way.

Local writer, Gregory G. Lewis wrote a great review of the night. He titled it Joy Sumberg Sooths Mocha Maya's. Click here to read the review.

Barre Good Fun March 18, 2006

A great time was had by all at The Thunderbird Cafe on Saturday. Lots of old friends (and some new ones) showed up to be entertained. The result was an intimate evening of storytelling and original acoustic music. Bobby Jackson was a gracious host and even warmed up the audience with some classics.

Neptune Bay Farewell February 22, 2005

Announcement: The members of Neptune Bay have officially decided to part ways.

Formed in 2002 by Larry Kennedy and Bob Kramer, Neptune Bay found footing even as it dealt with a number of different lineup changes through the years. In August of 2003, the lineup began to solidify with Joy Sumberg joining as the lead vocalist. Shortly after Joy joined the band, Paul Wadsworth came aboard as the bass player and Kevin Miller on drums. They played together for the next year, generated a loyal following, and a reputation as cultivators and supporters of fellow North Shore musicians. In particular Neptune Bay produced and funded the North Shore Music Project, a CD compilation of original compositions by North Shore (loosely defined) musicians. This endeavor was followed by Neptune Bay hosting and producing with Ron Vargas a monthly TV show called, the North Shore Music Project show that played on local Comcast stations through out the North Shore.

"To all of the people who supported us, I would like to extend a big thank you and I hope you will continue to support each of us as we explore other musical worlds" shared Joy Sumberg.
